Hey Bubbas, check this out:

I’ve always been fascinated by the variety of uses folks find for discarded wood pallets.  These guys took a few of them and did a great room design including a flat screen mount and home Home Theater Seating from Recycled Palletstheater seating from recycled pallets.  The guys at Treehugger.com show a build out of an employee break room that features some futon looking seating, tiered to offer good viewing of a large flat screen TV, which is also mounted on a set of pallets.

At the center of the room there’s a large recovered pallets sofa/day bed with different heights. Even if here it is not intended for sleep, it’s an interesting idea for a studio, an opposite from getting rid of the bed: making the bed into a multi-purpose space. On the sides, the pallets offer space for magazines or books.

Recycled Pallets as Home Theater SeatingThis just goes to show that you don’t have to spend a fortune on leather upholstered, electrified, headrested theater seats to have a pretty cool space. Especially if you’re planning to build a game room or a theater area that will be run over by kids and teens and in-laws.

There are lots of possibilities here for post Thanksgiving dinner nappage.  Certainly cleanup and housekeeping is easy for this rig. Note that mounting the TV on the pallets makes cable organization a snap. Most places that have those old pallets lying around usually beg folks to take them away. And they’re tough as nails, in fact, getting the nails and staples out can be extremely difficult if your design calls for it.

But as far as great design idea for next to no money, you can beat building home theater seating from recycled pallets.
