Hey Bubbas, check this out:Build Your Own TV Lift Cabinet

You’ve seen those expensive furniture cabinets where a nice sized flat screen TV lifts magically up through the countertop, often costing two or three thousand bucks. Now you can build your own TV lift cabinet for a fraction of that cost.

Here’s a great instructable from the instructables website that has a full set of plans, excellent photo illustrations, and a set of videos to take you through it. Instructables user ihart has been exceedingly generous in sharing all of this information. Great project. To be fair, this is at least going to require a moderate level of carpentry smarts. With a cuts drawing and a shopping list, he offers as much help as you can get anywhere.

TV Lift Cabinet – DIY Style

The not so fine print. The materials are not inexpensive. The lift mechanism is a bit over $500, but comes with an IR repeater so everything can be hidden within the cabinet.  With the rest of the lumber and hardware, you’re gonna come in at just under a grand. Again, shopping lists and sources are provided. The Firgelli lift operator can be seen here, along with some other great mounting hardware and components.  With a little imagination, you can customize this a dozen ways.  This one is four paws up from Bubba.
